With this combined solution it becomes possible to produce saddlestitched as well as perfect bound books end products. The centerpieces of this digital production line are the Cross Cutter CS8 and the Bypass unit. The paper web is cut into single sheets by Hunkeler‘s precision rotary cutting system. The Bypass unit allows quick and easy diverting of the output to the inline saddle-stitching system or to the Conveyor Belt TB8 for stacked book blocks (e.g. for transfer to a nearline perfect binder). Dynamic gluing or stitching process of brochures with varying thicknesses with a capacity of up to 6000 units per hour on the IBIS Smartbinder.

The pile stacker PST-52 is equipped with two easily removable standard paper trolleys. Once the stack is full, users simply roll out the full trolley, roll the second empty trolley into the stacker and continue production. Additional trolleys are available as an option.
The combination of longitudinal and cross cut-out (module CS8) allows the user to produce full-bleed products.
A Web inspection system checks the quality and content of the printed pages. With the WI8 Web Inspection system you can check quality and content of the printing on each page in terms of colors, positions, contours, smearing, jetouts, data validation, etc. It is always possible to update it with new functions and extend it to a complete tracking solution.
The tracking system monitors ongoing prodcution in terms of completeness and accuracy.
